Ludo has over 16 years of operational oil and gas industry experience. He has spent 6 years at Senergy (now part of Lloyds Register).  Prior to Senergy he was a drilling manager at Wintershall and Perenco. Ludo has engineered and managed deepwater, HPHT, MPD, offshore and onshore drilling operations across the world in some of the most difficult operational environments. Ludo graduated in Mechanical and Industrial Engineering from the Arts et Métiers-ParisTech university in Paris, and holds an MSc in Petroleum Engineering from the IFP school (French Petroleum Institute).

Kit Beale

Kit has deep roots in the energy insurance industry. He has had placements and support roles in London with several underwriting syndicates (including Amlin and Munich Re). In addition, Kit has spent extensive time with key service suppliers such as Lloyd’s Register and Stellar Well Control. Kit has worked alongside surveyors conducting operations for SIS on land rigs, offshore platforms, wells and facilities in Canada, Texas and Louisiana. Kit graduated from Newcastle University studying Environmental Sciences.

Jonathan has broad experience as an executive and director across multiple industries including at Google. Jonathan has extensive experience in setting up businesses, coordinating the development of their branding, developing commercial models and designing marketing programs. Jonathan has provided key leadership support to SIS since its inception. Jonathan holds an MSc in Marketing from the University of Strathclyde.

James is a team leader in the McGriff energy practice based in Houston with responsibility for delivering risk management and insurance solutions for US and International upstream, midstream and power generation clients. His role in energy spans 35 years including 7 years underwriting energy business for AIG Oil Rig, Fireman’s Fund and Lloyd’s/London Companies.

Matt Byatt

Matt is responsible for the production and marketing of business for Alesco where he specialises in Energy packages including coverage for Control of Well, Onshore and Offshore Contractors and Third Party Liabilities. Matt’s primary focus is on business emanating from North America. He is also responsible for developing business opportunities in South and Central America.

Matt began his career in 2004 in the energy division of a major insurance broker, including a secondment to Bermuda in 2007. Matt has 13 years experience of placing a multitude of energy risks into the London and European Insurance markets.

Robert is a partner and co-founder of Stellar Well Control. Stellar provides a broad range of support services to prevent and control oil and gas well blowouts throughout the World. In addition, Stellar provides a suite of risk surveying, claims support and risk management capabilities.

Robert has over 40 years of US and international operations experience in the energy industry. This experience includes senior management responsibility for the development, implementation and management of operational risk, HSE projects and corporate security programs. Robert has extensive experience in risk management and HSE in the offshore drilling industry with prior leadership and consulting positions at Pacific Drilling and Reading and Bates. 

Robert has considerable experience handling complex energy insurance claims. His claims handling experience includes working as a Senior Vice President at McGriff Seibels & Williams and as an adjuster at Brocklehurst.
 
Robert has been personally involved with SIS's asset integrity program. He has assisted SIS with condition surveys of onshore and offshore assets including drilling rigs and production equipment.

Robert studied Petroleum Industrial Technology at the University of Louisiana – Lafayette. He is a licensed claims adjuster, licensed local recording agent, certified professional firefighter, certified level II instructor structural Fire & Rescue in the State of Texas.

Steve Gilbert

Steve has over 25 years Oil & Gas experience with major international operators and contractors including more than 10 years in Senior Management positions. He has extensive exposure and knowledge of both UK and International projects having managing engineering, operational and commercial teams along with involvement in high-level acquisitions.

From an engineering background, Steve has conducted exploration and development work including HPHT, high H2S, multi-lateral, deepwater and subsea operations amongst others and has extensive knowledge of working with all types of offshore installations on a worldwide basis.

Steve is a graduate of the Camborne School of Mines and is a member of both the SPE and the PESGB.

James Holloway

James' role covers the full spectrum of the Glencore insurance and risk portfolio, with a particular focus on upstream and midstream assets.

James joined Glencore’s Insurance Department in November 2009, handling cargo and shipping related exposures across the commodity portfolio. This included Glencore’s wholly owned metals warehousing business and latterly the upstream energy EnP programme centred in West Africa. In 2012 James transitioned to Glencore, Singapore to fulfil a role on the Middle Distillate and Fuel Oil Trading desks as a Risk Manager. After the merger with Xstrata, James re-joined the Insurance desk in London.

James has a Masters in Chemistry from the University of Bristol. He conducted his thesis on synthetic diamond growth via chemical vapour deposition, on which a scientific paper was published regarding work on electrospray deposition.

JIM LYE

Jim joined Antares as Energy Underwriter on 5th November 2012. Antares is owned by Qatar Insurance Company - the largest insurer in MENA.

Previously he was with Infrassure Limited where he was Underwriting and Claims Manager responsible for the development of its offshore energy portfolio. Prior to that, he worked as an offshore engineer for BPP-Tech, where he specialised in the technical analysis of offshore energy risks, as well as providing support to insurers in risk management and major claims disputes.

Jim’s strengths include a combination of underwriting skill, technical expertise, first hand industry experience and claims knowledge from his former roles.

Jim has a MEng in Naval Architecture, is a member of the Royal Institution of Naval Architects, the Institute of Mechanical Engineers, the Chartered Insurance Institute and is also a Chartered Engineer.

Steve Williams heads the HSE, Quality and Risk Management functions of Nabors Industries. Nabors owns and operates the world's largest land-based drilling rig fleet and is a leading provider of offshore drilling rigs in the United States and multiple international markets. Nabors also provides directional drilling services, performance tools and innovative technologies throughout the world. Steve manages Nabors' captive insurance companies and oversees security. Steve joined Nabors as Risk Manager in 1985 and has held positions of increasing responsibility since that time.

He began his career in risk management with Corporate Services in Texas and New Mexico and later joined Geosource, Inc., where he was responsible for the company’s international risk management program. Steve is a graduate of Texas Tech University with a degree in Business Administration.
